SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE AT HUMBER. 

This is a YOU’VE GOT TO BE THERE concert – just check out the line-up.  From Munich, Abbie Conant’s fabulous One Woman Show; Symbiosis Trio; Bella Tromba; Fergus McWilliam of the Berlin Philharmonic with Ericka Raum and Lydia Wong; Allene Hackleman; the Japanese Ladies Band and more.  Saturday June 19th at 8:00-10:00 pm.  Humber College Auditorium, Lakeshore Campus.  Tickets can be purchased at the door: $30 for adults; $20 for seniors and students.*

Here’s a fantastic deal. All of Saturday’s events are included in a special day pass that costs only $125 for adults and $100 for seniors and students. The day pass includes the Afternoon Showcase Concert; dinner, which includes a key note presentation by speaker Christopher Donison with the jazz ensemble from Humber College; the Saturday Night Live at Humber concert; and Saturday conference classes and workshops.

The Brass Belles Concert closes the week’s celebration.  Be sure to mark this one on your calendar:  Sunday, June 20th at 3:00pm at the Jane Mallet Theatre in downtown Toronto.  The Hannaford Street Silver Band will host a fabulous list of soloists including Carol Jantsch, Principal Tuba of the Philadelphia Orchestra; Susan Rider, Lead Cornet soloist with the US Marine Band; Bonnie Denton, Euphonium soloist with the US Coast Guard Band; Gail Robertson, Euphonium soloist in J.Scott Irvine’s Concertino; and Joan Watson, Principal Horn of the Canadian Opera Orchestra. A PRESS RELEASE FROM ACROSS THE POND....

BELLA TROMBA PERFORM NEW WORKS AT 2010 INTERNATIONAL WOMENS BRASS CONFERENCE IN TORONTO, CANADA

UK Trumpet Ensemble to perform New Works at World Wide Event

UK chamber group, Bella Tromba, have performed at London’s Purcell Room, the Cheltenham Music Festival and for BBC Radio 3. Awarded Park Lane Group Young Artists in 2007 the ensemble has commissioned many new works forming an extensive repertoire.

The quartet will give the world premiere of El Grito del Silencio by German composer Susanne Erding Swiridoff. Susanne teaches composition at Stuttgart University of Music specialising in Contemporary and Non-European Music.  She has written more than 80 works for opera, orchestra, concertos, chamber music, vocal music, and received numerous national and international prizes.

Bella Tromba will play works originally premiered by the ensemble from composer Peter Longworth alongside percussion and trumpet repertoire by Peter Maxwell Davies and Alan Hovhanness.


The conference features world class performances from Classical musicians at Humber College in Toronto from June 16 – 20th 2010.
Bella Tromba will perform two recitals of original music for trumpets.
